The Civil Aviation Authority of Solomon Islands (CAASI) is responsible for the issuance of Air Traffic Services, Flight Crew, and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licences in accordance with ICAO Annex 1, the Civil Aviation Act 2008, and Civil Aviation Rules (CARs).

The Personnel Licensing Office undertakes examinations, licensing, training oversight, regulatory, and administrative functions to meet legal and corporate obligations.

• Licence applications must be submitted in hard copy only
• Licence holders are encouraged to collect documents personally

CAASI conducts audits, inspections, and surveillance of air operators to ensure compliance with ICAO Standards and Civil Aviation Rules.

CAASI regulates UAV operations to ensure safe integration into Solomon Islands airspace, in accordance with CAR Part 101 and CAR Part 102.

The Airworthiness Office ensures continuing airworthiness and safety oversight across the Solomon Islands civil aviation system.

• Distribution of airworthiness directives and safety information

CAASI conducts safety oversight of Air Navigation Service Providers including ATS, MET, CNS, AIS, and SAR services to ensure compliance with ICAO SARPs and CAR Parts.

CAASI is mandated to regulate and oversee aviation security in compliance with ICAO Annex 17 and national aviation security programmes.
